As part of its first 100 Day Plan to secure Tasmania's future, the State Government has committed an amazing $1 million to extend the current subsidy for flights from Hobart to the Bass Strait islands.
Premier Peter Gutwein announced the initiative will "support the Islands through the quieter winter period and enable operators to be prepared for a busy spring and summer".
"Importantly, the services also provide residents of both islands easier access to healthcare and other services in Hobart, " notes Premier Gutwein.
The funding, confirmed until March next year, allows Sharp Airlines to continue our popular flight service between Hobart to King and Flinders Islands.
Sharp Airlines CEO Dallas Hay welcomes the Premier's announcement: "The fact that Island residents have easy connectivity to our capital city is a great outcome for the Island communities."
Sharp Airlines flights depart three days a week. Make sure you visit our Flight Schedule page and make your getaway today.
